Antique Cinque Ports Door Knocker
A very interesting door knocker, not only displaying the Coat of Arms of Hastings but also the names of the five ‘Cinque Ports’: Hastings, New Romney, Dover, Hythe and Sandwich.
They had originally came to be linked together to supply ships for the service of the Crown both in defence against invasion and in the protection of cross-Channel traffic.
